Problem Note 40220: EFI, PROC IMPORT and IMPORT WIZARD read a quoted 4 digit number incorrectly

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Beginning in SAS® 9.2 TS2m0 a numeric value that is enclosed in quotation marks will be considered to be a SAS datetime variable when using EFI, PROC IMPORT or IMPORT WIZARD. The numeric value will have an informat of ANYDTDTM40. and a format of DATETIME. An example of values would be the following:

"2005"
"1111"
"2601"

The above values should be considered character instead of a SAS datetime and will be handled correctly in a future release of SAS.
